Audax Charitable Foundation Announces Spring Grantees

BOSTON and SAN FRANCISCO, July 29, 2024 – Audax Private Equity (“Audax”), a leading alternative investment manager and capital partner to middle market companies, today announced that Audax Charitable Foundation (“ACF”) has provided new grants to eight local non-profit organizations. The new class of grantees includes charities whose missions seek to address at least one of ACF’s core focus areas of Education, Healthcare, Social Support & Services, and Arts & Cultural Programs. Since the Fall of 2021, when Audax Private Equity formalized its giving strategy through ACF, the foundation has made commitments to 36 local charities operating in Boston and San Francisco.

“We’re incredibly excited to support these local charities,” noted Pam Martin, Senior Managing Director at Audax Private Equity. “This latest class of grantees underscores the maturation of ACF and the depth of relationships we seek to develop. In two cases, we’re building on existing relationships through providing additional support to previous grantees, and in other cases, we’re leveraging our own skillsets in finance to deepen our engagement with certain organizations we support.”

The following charities were selected to receive ACF’s multi-year grant:
Association for Autism and Neurodiversity, (AANE) based in Watertown, MA, provides education, information, and referrals to individuals with Autism and similarly Neurodivergent people helping build meaningful, connected lives.
Early Investors, Inc., based in Braintree, MA, helps thousands of students and adults in Massachusetts become better equipped to manage their finances to promote financial independence, responsibility, security, and success.
Filmmakers Collaborative, based in Melrose, MA, provides low-cost fiscal sponsorship to independent media makers. ACF’s commitment will help support Our Turn to Talk, a community of teen-led storytellers seeking to end the stigma around mental health.
Fisher House of Boston, based in Walpole, MA, provides a home away from home where military families can stay, free of charge, while a loved one is receiving in-house treatment from the organization’s local medical centers.
InnerCity Weightlifting (ICW), a previous recipient of ACF’s one-time grant, is based in Boston, MA, and aims to amplify the voice and agency of people impacted by mass incarceration through providing program participants with careers in and beyond personal training.
West End House, based in Allston, MA, works with young people to uncover and nurture strengths through a range of programs that promote academic success, wellness, and leadership and career development, among other outcomes.

In this most recent funding cycle, ACF also awarded modest one-time grants to smaller charities seeking to scale their operations. Charities receiving these grants include:
Food Drive, Inc., also a previous grant recipient, is based in Melrose, MA, and provides grassroots, hyper-local solutions to solve for hunger and food waste in communities north of Boston.
Studio Theatre Worcester, based Worcester, MA, is committed to a differentiated, professional theatre experience that reflects the diversity and vibrancy of local communities.

“Since the Fall of 2021, Audax Private Equity employees have committed over 2,600 hours of volunteer service across the Boston and San Francisco communities, a large proportion of which is facilitated through our relationships with ACF grantees,” noted Young Lee, Partner and Co-President of Audax Private Equity. “We’re looking forward to building new relationships with this latest class of ACF grantees.”

“As we celebrate our firm’s 25th anniversary, we are committed to giving back to our local communities,” added Keith Palumbo, Partner and Co-President of Audax Private Equity. “ACF provides a way for us to demonstrate this gratitude and we want to sincerely thank our employees, our business partners, and the charities on the ground, doing the hard work, who make it possible.”
